Fundación Iberdrola España supports Fundación Tomillo’s Community Development Programme in Paseo de los Olivos district

The Fundación Iberdrola España collaborates with the Fundación Tomillo and the educational scheme it runs at the Los Olivos housing project in Madrid, which aims to enhance the performance of children and teenagers at school. However, the scheme that the Fundación Tomillo runs at this housing project is about much more than boosting grades at school. They work to prevent children dropping out of school and to ensure that they acquire good values.

The Fundación Tomillo works with children, women and senior citizens.

The goal of this scheme, which was launched in the year 2009, is to boost the process of community development in the Paseo de los Olivos district so as to enable improvements in the living conditions of residents and reinforce social intervention processes on an individual and collective basis.

The Fundación Tomillo works with children, women and senior citizens. Its activities include encouraging intergenerational social participation, healthy leisure pursuits in the open air, support for children at school, preventing truancy in collaboration with all of the organisations working in the area (primary and secondary schools, social services, etc.), peaceful conflict resolution, etc.

The goal of this scheme, which was launched in the year 2009, is to boost the process of community development in the Paseo de los Olivos district.

The Fundación Iberdrola España is supporting this initiative as part of its Social Grants Scheme, which promotes activities in support of people that are disadvantaged or who find themselves in a situation or at risk of social exclusion, making an active contribution towards enhancing their quality of life.

These grants are intended for private not-for-profit organisations with public utility status. The goal is to help meet the basic needs and enable better social integration for the most vulnerable sectors of the population, while also backing other initiatives of interest that are aligned with the purposes of the Fundación and the Social Responsibility strategy of the Iberdrola Group.
