The director general of Innovation and Educational Equity of the Junta de Castilla y León, María del Pilar González, and the delegate of Iberdrola in the Community, Joaquin Boneta, delivered this morning in the town of Villarino de los Aires the diplomas to the Twenty first students participating in an English language immersion course organized by the company.

The objective of this program is to offer this educational modality to the students of Compulsory Secondary Education of the centers supported with public funds in the Autonomous Community.

In addition to the sessions and workshops of learning in the classroom, this activity also addresses aspects related to coexistence with the environment.

The place chosen for the development of this initiative, which will accommodate 40 students in two shifts throughout the month of July, is the residence of Iberdrola next to the hydroelectric plant of Villarino de los Aires in Salamanca, a spectacular place located on the shores Of the rivers Duero and Tormes, bordering with Zamora and Portugal. In order to offer an intensive English program that improves the level of the students of the Community and gives them the necessary confidence to work in and outside the classrooms, the immersion course has native teachers. The Ministry of Education has made the selection of students according to criteria of academic excellence.

In addition to the classroom learning sessions and workshops, the course, which involves students from all provinces of the Community, also deals with aspects related to coexistence with the environment by performing playful activities such as canoeing or Hiking, in which English is used as the only language.
