Iberdrola has incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its business and sustainability strategy in order to tackle the main environmental, social and economic challenges threatening the future of the planet.
The Iberdrola Foundation in Spain has incorporated the SDG approach into its programmes, defining specific goals it will work towards in each of its activities. To prepare its new master plan, which will define its intervention strategy for the next 4 years. It has held a number of working meetings with social organisations with the aim of incorporating their opinions and proposals for improvement into this document.
The meetings created a space for dialogue in which more than 120 representatives from some thirty NGOs participated, presenting new experiences and future challenges in the field of social action. The working groups at these events addressed issues affecting the most vulnerable children and the use of education as a useful tool for overcoming poverty, social inclusion for people with disabilities, climate change and the global commitment to the SDG.
