‘Museorum’ comes to La Roda by the hand of Iberdrola with the most outstanding works of the provincial museums

La Roda (Albacete) is hosting today “Museorum”, a new outdoor exhibition cycle consisting of 42 panels and promoted by Fundación Iberdrola España. Through a selection of photographs of the most representative pieces of the five provincial galleries, some of which date back more than 3.5 million years, it aims to bring the art of the museums of Castilla-La Mancha closer to its citizens.
The inauguration of the exhibition, installed in the Paseo de la Estación, was attended, among others, by Juan Ramón Amores García, mayor of La Roda; Pedro Antonio Ruiz Santos, delegate of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha in Albacete; Diego Perez Gonzalez, Provincial Delegate of Education and Culture of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha in Albacete; and Fernando García, president of the Fundación Iberdrola España.
Among the pieces on display are the Bust of Lucius Caesar of Ercávica, the Venus of Noheda, the Sepulcher of Doña Aldonza de Mendoza of Lupiana, the Immaculate Oballe of El Greco, the female Sculpture of Zenon of Aphrodisias, the Doorway of the Synagogue of Ciudad Real or the Transit of San Julián by Giuseppe Simonelli.
From the museum of Albacete, in particular, the Caballero de Los Villares, the Roman Dolls of Ontur, the Lekanis from the necropolis of El Toril, the Visigothic Cancel from the basilica of Eio, the Candil de piquera’ from Liétor, the Cruz de término de Albacete, the Dolorosa de Salzillo and the Portrait of Alberto Sánchez’ by Benjamín Palencia will be on display.
After the success of the exhibition in Cuenca and in the La Mancha municipalities of Alcolea de Calatrava, Manzanares, Cifuentes, Bolaños de Calatrava, and Quintanar del Rey, “Museorum” continues its tour of the Autonomous Community. After La Roda, where it can be visited until December 17, the exhibition will pass through Illescas, Humanes, Consuegra, and Tobarra.
