The AMICOS association received today, Wednesday, February 7, a visit from Teresa Rodríguez de Tembleque, head of Social Action, Training and Research at Fundación Iberdrola España, and Guadalupe de Cuadra, Social Action technician at Fundación Iberdrola España, and Francisco Silva, institutional delegate of the electricity company in Galicia. During the morning, representatives of the energy company toured the center’s facilities where they were able to see first-hand its innovations, as well as the development of the Rural Employment Seedbed project, promoted by Fundación Iberdrola España.
Through its Social Program 2024 – Future with Energy, Fundación Iberdrola España allocates an amount every year to help social entities mitigate poverty and expand employment and training opportunities for the most vulnerable people. The Rural Employment Seedbed project is an initiative that promotes the socio-labor inclusion of young people with intellectual or psychosocial disabilities, promoting green employment opportunities in rural areas in Galicia, through the training of 15 young people with intellectual disabilities in forestry and sustainable forest management. and their guidance in the job search.

In 2023, 40 people benefited from this alliance, of which a total of 15 were able to benefit from finding a job. More than twenty companies showed their interest in meeting the participants
The alliance between Fundación Iberdrola España and the AMICOS Association was born in 2018 through the electric company’s Social Aid Program. The purpose was to carry out different workshops that would favor the qualification and acquisition of routines and communication skills of people with disabilities in the Barbanza region.
Over 12 million euros invested in social initiatives
Iberdrola, through the Fundación Iberdrola España Social Program, has allocated more than 12 million euros to social initiatives in the country and helped a total of 414,546 people. Since the launch of this Plan in 2010, the company has promoted more than 500 projects in collaboration with more than a hundred social entities, contributing to the fight against child poverty, school support, and the social insertion of children, young people, and women. in a vulnerable situation. The Social Program has allowed the creation of 1,830 jobs and the participation of 8,538 volunteers.
Fundación Iberdrola España also focuses its activities on its scholarship program in the fields of energy, biodiversity, and the environment, supporting research on topics related to energy and climate change, as well as in the cultural field, focusing on the restoration and maintenance of the cultural and artistic riches of the heritage of the Iberian Peninsula.
