Fundación Iberdrola España chooses 34 projects to develop its 2023 Social Program

  • 1,3 million euros will be distributed and will assist 56,000 people. They are expected to generate some 200 jobs
  • The actions are focused on three groups: children and young people, women, and people with disabilities or serious illnesses

Fundación Iberdrola España publishes the names of the winning entities and projects in the 2023 Social Program Call for Proposals. A total of 34 have been selected and 1.3 million euros will be distributed among them.

The Foundation’s objective is to contribute to mitigating poverty and inequality and to expand employment and training opportunities for the most vulnerable people. During the implementation of these projects, around 56,000 people will benefit and more than 200 direct jobs will be generated in the priority lines in the national territory.

The 2023 Social Program has prioritized three lines of work. The first focuses on projects linked to child poverty and social exclusion. They support households in vulnerable situations, especially supporting initiatives that seek to reduce early school dropout rates and promote the education and employability of children and young people.

The second line of work focuses on projects to support women. Specifically, it helps women who suffer harassment and gender violence, and whose situation has been aggravated by the current health, economic and social crisis.

The third line addresses social inclusion projects for people with disabilities, seriously ill, or undergoing treatment for addictions, to foster skills for their cognitive development and enhance their personal autonomy.

In addition, the criteria of rigor, transparency, and good governance of these entities, for which it has been essential to demonstrate their experience in social projects, have been valued. They had to have their accounts audited for the last few years, in addition to having their statutes and documentation published on their website.

The Foundation is grateful for the acceptance and participation of the Third Sector organizations and congratulates the 34 winning organizations. You can consult the projects and entities selected for the year 2023 here.
