The exhibition ‘El Museo del Prado en las Calles’ comes to Córdoba
- Promoted by Fundación Iberdrola España, it offers the most relevant works of the national museum to the public in the green heart of the city
- The exhibition continues the tour that began in 2020 through different emblematic territories in Spain and will travel through the eight Andalusian capitals in this new itinerary
Fundación Iberdrola España brings to Cordoba the great outdoor exhibition “El Prado en las Calles”, installed in the Paseo del Vial where it can be visited until December 10.
José María Bellido, Mayor of Córdoba; Patricia del Pozo, Councilor for Educational Development and Vocational Training; Andrés Úbeda, Deputy Director of the Prado Museum; and Fernando García, President of Fundación Iberdrola España, visited the exhibition this morning on its first day on display.
In addition, the Andalusian Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training and Fundación Iberdrola España are collaborating in the inclusion of the exhibition as an educational resource of the Program for Educational Innovation “Living and Feeling Heritage”, which aims to promote knowledge and understanding of the historical, artistic, ethnographic, scientific and technical values of cultural assets.
This exhibition will allow visitors to tour the different schools that make up the permanent collection of El Prado and learn about the history of Spain, Europe, and Western art at the hands of the great masters of painting. Its 50 works are present in the Spanish, Italian, Flemish, French, German, and Dutch schools, from the twelfth century to the early twentieth century.
The exhibition, which began in Seville last September, has resumed its itinerancy through Andalusia and will travel to the provinces of Granada, Jaen, Almeria, Malaga, Cadiz, and Huelva in the coming months, in addition to Cordoba. Curated by Ana Moreno Rebordinos, General Education Coordinator of the Prado Museum, this large open-air exhibition offers life-size reproductions of the Prado’s permanent collection and allows visitors to learn about the history of Spain, Europe, and Western art through the great masters of painting.
Since its launch in Spain in 2020, ‘El Prado en las Calles’ has accumulated a large number of visitors at its various sites in Castilla La-Mancha, Castilla y León, and Extremadura.
